Steve Urquhart currently works for the Orange County (Fla.) Clerk of Courts as manager of organization development and strategic planning, as part of the Talent Management team.

While working on a masters degree in Human Resources Development at Webster University, Steve founded T21 Solutions, a niche consulting firm based in Florida that specialized in “talent solutions for the 21st century.” He also founded VETsourcing, an initiative to help transitioning military veterans compete for jobs in the knowledge economy, and created the Talent Hub alternative workforce strategy to coach entrepreneurship and self-employment skills for professionals in transition.

Steve served as vice president of workforce performance for Workforce Florida, the state’s public-private partnership that oversees and establishes policy for the state’s workforce investment system; and led the corporate communications and investor relations functions for sister organization Enterprise Florida, the public-private partnership responsible for leading Florida’s statewide economic development efforts. As part of his role with Enterprise Florida, he also served as interim director of the Florida Defense Alliance.

Prior to Enterprise Florida, Steve worked for Siemens in the U.S. and Germany, and has held a number of leadership roles in corporate communications and human resources, with companies in Orlando and Las Vegas.

Additionally, Steve had a 14-year career in the US Army, including active duty tours with the 82nd Airborne Division during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and the 1st Infantry Division in Bosnia, and six years with the 143rd Transportation Command headquarters in Orlando, Florida.

Steve is a graduate of Rollins College and serves a variety of roles in the Central Florida community, with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Rollins Philanthropy Leadership Center, the Rollins College President’s Leadership Council. He is a member of the Greater Orlando Organizational Development (GOOD) Network, and served as a Trustee of the Florida Chamber Foundation, where he was a founding member of the Innovation Caucus and remains active on the Talent Supply & Education Caucus.
